The Social Network

The Interserveral Social Network is an overarching term which refers to the array of chatrooms, servers, etc, that are related to the Interserveral communications.
All of the chatrooms and similar that are considered to be a part of the Social Network are subject to rules and guidelines defined on the Rules page.

Current Status

The Social Network currently consists of 2 bridged servers on both Discord and Stoat AKA Revolt, as well as a Matrix space. The purpose of this three-way bridge is to both connect people across different platforms without forcing them into using one or the other, and to also withstand censorship around the world, with certain platforms being banned in different countries (like for example Discord being banned in both Russia and Turkey).
The network can be joined by members of the guild via requesting an invite from Miv2nir for the time being, with a more streamlined approach to be considered as the guild grows in numbers.
More social platforms are likely to be considered later on.

Technical Information

The current implementation, as stated above, operates on a Discord server, a Stoat AKA Revolt server, and a self-hosted Matrix space. The Discord to Matrix bridge is handled via a self-hosted instance of the Out Of Your Element bridge software.
The Discord to Stoat bridge is handled via a self-hosted instance of the Lightning bridge software. The relay mechanism of Matrix to Stoat is currently reliant on both bridges watching the Discord server and relaying webhook messages from there.
The software utilized is subject to change based on the requirements for the guild.

Known Issues

- As of right now, the relay from Stoat to Matrix in specific does not carry over the information about the author of the message, instead it shows up as a message from the relay bot itself.
